ROOF PROGRESS
We received word that the extensive work needed on the Anchorage roof is schedule to begin June 6. We thank George Brown for his generous donation to our roof project given in memory of his sister Betty. Please remember to use your Church Restoration envelopes monthly to help defray the cost of this $100,000 project!
GOSPEL CONCERT
The Unified Voices of Johns Hopkins will salute the Gospel Greats at their Anniversary Concert on Sunday, May 1 at 5 pm at the Turner Auditorium at Johns Hopkins Hospital, 720 Rutland Avenue. Tickets cost $10. Please contact Eric Bundy for tickets at 301-275-5201.
DANIEL RUDD SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Office of African-American Catholic Ministries is conducting a raffle for the benefit of children attending Catholic schools. Two hundred tickets will be sold at $100 each. The winner will receive $10,000 and the scholarship fund will receive the same amount. Tickets are available in the church office. Talk to friends or colleagues about purchasing a ticket together. WOMEN’MSA 5 K RUN
Once again SAY G represented St. Ann’s outstandingly at Mother Seton Academy’s 5 K Run. In addition, with your help, they raised $400 to support Mother Seton Academy. The Youth will be in the back of church today to collect any remaining pledges that are due. Thanks to all!
HOLY WEEK
The holiest week of the year begins today, Palm Sunday, and reaches its climax in the celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Let us celebrate together the dying and rising of our Savior. Holy Thursday, April 21, Mass of the Lord’s Supper with washing of feet and procession of the blessed Sacrament, 7 pm at St. Wenceslaus ( Ashland & Collington. Good Friday, April 22, Stations of the Cross at 12 noon with Deacon Eddie Bee in the church and with St. Ann’s Youth group in the neighborhood. Church is open 12 noon – 3pm. Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion is at 3 pm at St. Ann’s. Holy Saturday Easter Vigil, April 23 Mass at St. Ann’s begins at 8 pm with the Lighting of the Easter Fire. Sacraments of Initiation are received. Easter Sunday, April 24, Easter Mass at 10 am with the Baptism of Children
SEDER MEAL
Our Annual Seder Meal will take place this Wednesday, April 20, at 7 pm in Mother Seton Academy’s hall. This service commemorates the Jewish Passover and the Last Supper. All are welcome. If you would like to help prepare or serve the Seder Meal, please call Mary Middleton at the church office (410-235-8169).
HOLY WEEK MINISTRIES
The services of Holy Week depend on our lectors, altar servers, Eucharistic ministers, musicians and ushers. Please plan to arrive early to receive special instructions. If you cannot keep your assignment please call the church and let us know.
WASHING OF THE FEET
Six volunteers are invited to sign up on the usher’s table for the washing of feet on Holy Thursday, 7 pm, at St. Wenceslaus. We encourage women, men and youth to take part in this service..
